President appoints nominating committee by June 30 (min. 4 people on committee, doesn’t have to be board members)

Nominating Committee files list of recommended nominees to President by July 31.

President mails list of recommended nominees to all members of chamber (include proxy form for members unable to attend election)

Annual Membership Meeting – intent to feature an interesting topic that would benefit the membership – cost to be incurred by Chamber and/or sponsor(s) – to be held prior to regular meeting of BOD so certification can occur on schedule.
Election of Board, nominees may be added from the floor by any person eligible to vote

Ambassadors Elect 2009 Officers

Annual Planning Meeting (Date - TBD)- Introduction of newly elected Board Members
2009 Executive Committee creates committees for following year to include:
- Purpose of committee
- Members of committee
- Definition of power and duties of committee
Committees develop budget requests and submit to Executive Director

Exec. Director prepares budget, approval by Budget Committee(includes allocations made to committees)
BOD authorization and approval of committees created by Executive Committee

Approval of Budget by Board
Unexpended balances in any budget allocations for 2008 revert to the general fund unless Directors make specific provisions.

Business After Hours Mixers
The Director is currently developing a Business After Hours quarterly mixer. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet other Members and develop loyal business partners and customers while you enjoy an evening of socializing.
We are currently accepting applications for host sites. If you are interested in hosting a Business After Hours mixer, contact Barbara McGinnis at office@alamosachamber.com or call 719-589-3681.
Our next Open House mixer will be on Friday, September 19th, 2008 at Just 4 Fitness from 5pm - 7pm.
Chamber Board of Directors Meetings
The monthly meetings of the Board of Directors are open to Members. The meeting is held the third Wednesday of each month at 5:15 p.m. at Adams State College. If you have a topic you wish to discuss with this group, please contact Barbara McGinnis at office@alamosachamber.comor 589-3681.
Alamosa Downtown Merchants, Inc. Board of Directors Meetings
The monthly meetings of the ADMI Board of Directors are open to ADMI members. The meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 a.m. at the Greenspot Garden Center at 711 State Avenue. Annual Alamosa Chamber Member Meeting
The Chamber’s annual gala event and Member meeting is held each September. The event includes an informative meeting, the annual election, entertainment and a fine dinner. Members look forward to attending all year long. This is an impressive gathering of the area’s business and government leaders in a gala atmosphere.
An invitation will be sent to all Chamber Members. Opportunities for you to promote your business at this event will be included.
Committee Meetings
Members are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and help with the upbuilding of commerce and civic interests in the area. Please consider joining other Chamber Members at a committee meeting. Share your ideas, hear other’s ideas and offer your expertise, talents and energy for the important committee projects.
