San Luis State Park and Wildlife Area

Our unique desert/mountain confluence supports a wide range of ecosystems, including the numerous flocks and species variety of waterfowl, songbirds and raptors attracted to the beautiful blue waters at San Luis State Park and Wildlife Area. A birder's haven, the lake and park are also a must-stop attraction for hikers, boaters and campers.
Slice through the blue waters on a jet ski, catch some air windsurfing, enjoy trout fishing and trail riding, or relax for a tranquil picnic on the shore or the bow of your boat at sunset. When day closes, camp in a tent under the stars or pull your recreational vehicle in and enjoy all the amenities of a modern campground - all just a 15-minute drive from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, and a 30-minute drive from Alamosa.
The park is open and accessible year-round, fees apply. Consult the official San Luis State Park website for camping information, park activities, trails, directions and fees.
