The town of Alamosa is located in the heart of the San Luis Valley in beautiful South-central Colorado, conveniently accessed from Colorado’s Front Range to the east, Gunnison/Buena Vista to the north, Pagosa Springs to the west, and Taos, New Mexico to the south.
When you arrive, you’ll first be greeted by 100-mile views across our high desert as you emerge from the surrounding mountains that naturally form a ring around the valley. As one of the largest alpine valleys in the world, the SLV boasts wide open spaces at approximately 7500 ft in elevation, and an arid climate that makes it perfect for stargazing!
